MINNEAPOLIS INDIE ROCK BAND CRYNS #3 TO HOST 2nd ANNUAL CHARITY EXTRAVAGANZA
This year's event will feature Tecmo Super Bowl on the NES and 3 local indie-rock bands
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MINNEAPOLIS, MN - Nov. 6, 2007 - Minneapolis-based indie rock group, Cryns #3, citing the need for more civic involvement by local bands, will host its 2nd annual Charity Extravaganza at Kieran's Irish Pub on Friday, Nov. 30.
"We believe it is important for local artists to give back to the community in a meaningful way," said Toby Cryns, lead singer of Cryns #3. "Last year's event raised over $2,000 for AIDS research, and we hope to double that this year."
The event, which will feature the music of local underground indie-funk-rockers, Invasion From Planet K and Swing Swang Swung's Tony Thomas, will give attendees the opportunity to play each other in the NES version of Tecmo Super Bowl on the big screen TV. Tecmo Super Bowl is arguably the best football game ever created for any gaming system.
"Tecmo Super Bowl is always a popular attraction at my house parties, so I thought, 'Why not bring it to the bar with us and see what happens?'" Cryns said.
The event will cost $5 to get in, and all proceeds will be donated to Minneapolis-based Project for Pride in Living, a charity that provides services, education, and housing to low-income families in the Twin Cities. Doors open at 8 p.m.
